*sigh* Death by misadventure.

I experienced some pretty bad timing last tuesday night when I discovered that I had a bacterial infection on my hands and I was to leave for a band trip Thursday morning. So, I ran out to the store, got some Triple Sulfa, moved my plants, entire filter contents and my newly aquired mystery snail into my five gallon and proceeded to treat my twenty five.

My snail escaped from my five gallon saturday night, crawled across the counter, across the stove, and across the other counter before plummeting to the kitchen floor. My dad found him in a "brown puddle". The snail's shell (The tightly coiled part) was badly damaged, there's some white snail sticking out from it and he's tightly packed into his shell. Poor guy. I though he'd be fine in the small tank, there was lots of food in there for him.

Awwww... poor little guy. Looks like another case of "curiosity killed the snail"

Yeah, no kidding. He's not dead yet, but he's develpong some black on the white body near the damaged shell. I'm guessing it's a fungal infection. Can snails synthesize calcium from all of their body?
