Question Red dwarf crayfish????

Today at my lfs I saw these pretty small shrimp looking crayfish. I'm thinking about adding some to my tank and want to know if they're peaceful.

55 gallon planted tank, starting over!!!( looking crappy, needs a major rescape)

If they are CPO's, they are vicious little boogers.

CPO aka Orange Dwarf Crayfish aka Cambarellus Patzcuarensis (var. orange )

Most crayfish are vicious and NOT community friendly. They should be in species only tanks. They are omnivores and opportunistic.

Regarding CPO ... if you go that route and can get a breeding pair... you can make some $$ off of aquabid. They are fairly new to the market.

I have found that my Cajun Dwarf crayfish (Cambarellus shufeldtii) are pretty harmless. I have them in with my RCS and even when they are right next to each other, the crayfish just ignore the shrimp. Not to say they wouldn't take a shot at a baby/sick/old shrimp or fish, but so far things have been ok. They just aren't flashy and colorful but still a cool addition to my tank.

That is correct. Or if you do, keep smaller fast moving fish.
