Red cherry shrimp and crushed snails

Will my red cherries eat tiny crushed snails? I have quite a bit of tiny snails (pond and MTS) that I don't want over taking the tank. Does my crushing them provide food for the shrimp or is it just creating waste to the tank?? Thanks for any info!

Yeah! that's good to know. I have these tiny snails every where in all my tanks. It's hard for me to tell weather they are Assassin snail babies as my Assassin snails did lay egg pods in my small 6 gal. tank as I have 2 male/female Assassin snails in that tank. The tiny snails I see has the spiral shell and 1 light colored whitish stripe but only 1 so I don't want to crush the Assassin snail babies as they are Killer of other snails.

Hey Kymmie, I have about 10 Assassin snails in my 10 gal. now since I moved them out of my 55 gal. because of my yo yo loaches. I can give you a couple for Red cherry shrimps.I PM you also about the Java Moss.

Thanks for the offer. Regardless of whether I take you up on the Assassin snails I plan on just giving you some shrimp, consider it a pre-surgery gift. It'll give you something entertaining to watch as you recover.

@ Mikaila- Hopefully the shrimp eat them before the other snails do. More food for snails = more snails.

I forgot to tell you that you can't have Assassin snails in with any dwarf shrimps as they do attack them sometimes. I dropped some Ghost shrimps in my 55 gal. Bought as feeder shrimp but wanted something crawling around like my red cherries and found a couple of Assassin snails on it. That is unless it died then they will eat any fish that died. I do not keep Assassins in with any dwarf shrimps. I still see Ghost shrimps in my 55 gal. tank sometimes hiding in the plants.
