RCS - how sensitive to copper?

Anyone know how long/how many water changes it might take to make a "coppered" tank safe for shrimp, specifically red cherry shrimp? I treated my 55g planted tank with coppersafe. Now I'm trying to clear the copper with water changes and carbon in the canister.
