Pond snails

Do these guys do any damage to live plants or aquariums? I have some in my 10 gallon community tank since I added some wisteria and hornwort. Just wondering how often they breed. I'm thinking it would be ok for me to use my 10 gallon as a breeding tank for pond snails so I can give my dwarf puffers some yummy snails sometimes. What do you think?

If you have a lot of extra food or deliberately feed the pond snails really well you will have hundreds of them in no time. Just kepe up with the tank water changes or the snails can foul the water faster than a dirty fish can.

Pond snails can damage plants. It all depends on the genus. There are some that are benificial. This group includes mystery snails, ramshorns, and unbelievably Malysian trumpet snails. Most of these cannot tolerate a brackish environment.
