Olive Nerite Snail above water line?

I'm concerned about my Olive Nerite snail, Callahan. He's just gone above the water line. I have had him for exactly one year today, and I have never seen him do this. I'm concerned. Right now he's gone partially back underwater, so he's half in and half out. He has tucked his antennae close to his body, and he isn't moving his mouth or anything else at all. Is this something Nerites do when they are sick? Its only been going on for about 15 minutes so far, but like I said I've never seen him do this. I tested the water, Ammonia is at 0, Nitrites are at 0, Nitrates are at 5 ppm, pH is 7.8. Temperature is 80 degrees. He was eating, laying eggs, and cleaning the glass like normal up till now.

Edited to add
Oh, he's starting to go back down now, and his antennae are back out. And he's cleaning the glass like normal, I can see his mouth moving. I guess I overreacted there. I don't know why he would suddenly do something like that...stupid snail scared me. He's my little snail buddy. I got him when he was a little snail, and his shell was all cracked and pitted, and I've nursed him back to health so he's gotten big and strong, and you could never tell now there was anything ever wrong with his shell.

But does anyone know why he would suddenly decide he wanted to be above the water, after living with me for a year and never going up there?

It is very common for Nerite Snails to go above the water line, and is the reason a full hood is required with them. They like to adventure ;)

Nothing to worry about though.

The site has a profile for the Zebra Nerite Snail, just click the shaded name. It's vary sparse on information though.

Forgive my only semi related question. But I have a zebra nerite. Had him for a bout a week or so. Well, I think he's spending his nights out of water and uh, nomming on the film on my tank. Do they normally leave "bite" marks? This is what I have all around the water line and up to the hood. http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/r...mporary-41.jpg

Mine leaves the track marks on the tank too. I just figured they were slither marks, not bite marks. REckon they could be either:) I just got mine last week and the Corona likes to stay out the water during the day and go back in at night. I finally got tired of worrying him once I started seeing a pattern. The Tiger I have doesn't come out of the water yet at all. I've heard they do this if they don't like the environment or something is wrong with the water but so far this just looks to be the norm for this one Corona nerite I have.
