I purchased 4 fiddler crabs a few weeks ago. 2 males, 2 females. I have a 6 gallon tank. (I used a Sterilite storage bin. The Sterilite bin seems adequate as far as size is concerned;however, any smaller would get to crowded I am using some of the large gravel stones from out in the front for the tank/storage bin. There is a ceramic like cave in the corner so that they can hide and a few ceramic items, & some fake sea weed. I didn't have the proper salt, so I used regular salt for a couple of days, then bought some aquarium salt and found out that I needed marine salt. I'm getting that right away. The crabs are very healthy. The biggest one is male, the next largest ones are male and female. The baby is female. The one problem is that the big male picks on the baby once in awhile. I am thinking of taking the baby out and putting her in smaller tank and the grown female in there for company. I'm not sure yet. I'm just not sure what to do if the other crabs pick on the one that is molting. Need a little input.
P.S. These were purchased from Wal Mart so I don't know how long they will live, because they were in a full aquarium of water.
