mystery snail leaving shell

My apple mystery snail has left his shell today. Will he grow a new one? What do I do with the old shell?

He's moving around the tank and seems to be ok, but I just don't know what to do now.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I've never heard of a snail leaving it's shell. In fact, I was pretty sure they couldn't. If it is still alive, I doubt it will be for much longer.

Nope, sorry to tell you but hes a goner :( Mystery snails have like a huge tendon or muscle or something attaching them to their shell and if it snaps then they will die.
