Smile My invert tank

I have a red claw crab and mystery snail.

Plus, I just added some ghost shrimp.

Tank is 5.5 gallons. The moss on the wood does not hang down anymore, since it appeared to be drying out.

hah, I've been messing around with it a bit since I posted this. It still looks roughly the same. No more bamboo though.

anyway, I don't want too much stuff in there since I'd like to be able to see the crab.

Looks good to me!

The only thing that jumps out at me is that a black background would be a really nice addition.

Also, red claw crabs really do best in mildly brackish water, but your mystery snail wouldn't appreciate it. If you did start converting the tank to brackish, you could move the mystery snail to a fresh water tank and get a nerite snail instead, which will be fine in the brackish water (the ghosties should also be fine in brackish water).

thanks for your suggestions.

I have put salt in it, I believe enough to make it brackish. And I actually did just recently put a nerite snail in there :)

Anyway, the mystery snail doesn't seem to mind in.

Well, normal dosages of "aquarium salt" aren't enough to really measure on a hydrometer (i.e. not enough to really make it brackish) and probably won't bug your mystery snail. However, if you did go with marine salt mix and bumped the salinity up to low-end brackish (1.005 or so specific gravity) I don't think the mystery snail would survive.
