can mini crabs be fully submerged in water in my aquarium forever?

They can be... but they won't live very long. My fiddler spends just as much time on land as he does in water. They should definatly have a place to get out of the water.

I agree...Petco tells you to submerge them and we got a few (this was 4 years ago) and I got home, THEN did my research and found out otherwise. Wasn't too much of a bother to change things around but still annoying. Mr Krabs lived to the ripe old age of 3 (I guess for fiddlers in captivity that's old). The best part is they do a good deal of cleaning and males are fun to watch. Ours actually spent more time outside of the water waving his claw around. We tried having females with him but he was an odd one and kept eating them.

When given access to air they will thrive and are very peaceful animals. I have 10 Fiddlers in my 55 gallon tank and have yet to have cannibalisms.

I do have a 2 year old alpha male that is super fun to watch.

Anyway here is a picture of part of there home.

Is the tank just for the crabs or do you have fish too?
It has around 51 gallons of water stocked with Mollys, Fidler Crabs, Ghost Shrimp, Orange Spot Pleco, Betta, Dojo, Flounder, Yo-Yo Loaches
and a school of Cardinal Tetra, Glow Tetra, Neon Tetra

And they all get along :O)

I am in the middle of making it a fully planted tank so if you see a fake plant in one of these pictures then its an older picture.

I will try to take new pictures tonight and post them.

*sigh* So jealous :(
I will take that as a compliment.
There is no reason why anyone can't do what I did.
In fact I found the 55 gallon tall tank on Craig's List for $50
with stand and canopy. The rest I just took my time and planed thing out as much as possible. I even found my Current Nova T5 HO Retro Fit Lighting for a deal, I just looked hard and long enough.
