Hey guys, a while ago, I bought two snails that had a conical shell. It was dark brown in colour. Im just wondering if they are MTS. They dig into the soil during the day and come out at night. The tip of the shell is eroded. They have an operculum (the trapdoor thingy at the opening of the shell, not sure if I spelt it right). They are around an inch long. The flesh is black. They seem to be a darker colour from the pictures of MTS I have seen on this site. Ive got some pictures, hopefully you can tell me what they are. Their behaviour is the same as how everyone desribes MTS, its just their appearance that put me off.

LOL yes why are they a different color? Is that normal? I have only seen them in white shells like what you sent me Kymmie.

Just a hypothetical guess but some of my MTS have darker shells than the others. The ones I sent Amanda were from my white sand substrate tank, the ones in my black sand substrate tank are dark, as in your picture. Maybe nature's way of blending in with their surroundings??

It will be interesting to see if perhaps since they are now in a dark tank if they will change colors or if perhaps the ones that are born in my tank will have dark shells.
