Question KH, GH, ?H, Calcium water levels?

I always read people talking about all these water levels. I have an API master test kit, but it doesn't include any of these tests. I also haven't seen them at my local Petco.

Any suggestions on where to get them?

Also, what are KH, GH, (whatever else)H?

I order mine online, but is probably not necessary as people here have said you can get GH (or was it KH or both?) from your local water board and it should be the same they publish.

I don't see anything listed as GH and KH, but I found the following in a 2009 water report. The 2010 one was just delivered in the mail, so the full report isn't available online yet.

Calcium= 21.8 mg/L
Hardness= 25.0 mg/L (don't know if this is Gh or Kh)

Maybe someone else can look at it and tell me what my levels are:

GH and KH tests are nice to have but none of these are necessary. I don't see the point in a Ca test, if there is a major deficiency you will notice it if you have snails. GH I believe can imply some information about calcium. For example I would expect hard water to have plenty of Ca available, soft water would be more limiting.

.... I'm probably drunk.

This is how I lurk

Good point I looked at mine to and its in mg/L too, the API kit I have measures in ppm and shows you the equivalent degree so not sure how mg/L compares to ppm, also wondering if Hardness/Total hardness is GH or not? It would be nice if everyone in the world could use the same terms or at least put it in scientific names so you could match them.
