ID snail

My little sister came home with these snails. Shes like balling her eyes out now because I can't figure out what kind of snail they are and shes afraid they are going to starve So I'm hoping this will help. i know these pictures are horrible but believe it or not this was a really expensive camera!! Please, if anyone can give me a hand I would really appreciate it!!! I see these snails all the time outside.

Can anyone tell me what they need food and habitat wise?

And just before you laid dead weight upon its shores, I stung you in the face for that's the nature of my core.

I'm sorry, but that's pretty blurry. Any chance you could get a clearer photo? Also, did she find them on land or in the water?

I'd give them some lettuce and keep them moist until you can ID them.

Urg I know... This camera makes me so mad, like what a waste of 600 dollars.

She says she found them on the moist sand. And there is soil with a tiny bit of water covering it so if they do in fact need to rehydrate they can. I'm going to take some more pictures now.

Moist sand...so beach? May I ask what part of the country you're in?

See if your camera has a close-up or macro setting. Usually that will enable it to focus on closer objects.

LOL!! Yeah sorry... I was in a HUGE rush when I wrote that post, I never took more pictures because I had to run out the door right after posting this.

My little sister has taken the snails somewhere. Probably her bedroom so I'll throw some lettuce in there and snap some pictures tomorrow.

Yes, at a beach, and I'm in Ontario, so I imagine... Ontario lake They are probably mutations but whatever. I still need to feed them lol.

i cant help you with the snail but...

it seems that your camera is focusing on the items behind the snail. (the Test Kit in the first picture, the Keyboard in the second and your floor in the third )
as said if the camera has a macro setting it will definetly help for close up photos
also you could try putting some distance between the camera and the snail and even zooming in on the object if you have to.
and most cameras will have the handy feature where you very lighly push down the shutter button so it focuses more before it snaps the picture so you see if its focusing on the right object.

what kind of camera do you have?

Yeah!! Thats what makes me so mad though, whenever I even slightly touch the picture button... It goes from in focus to out of focus... I don't know how to find this macro setting you are talking about though. If I have any hope of taking a good picture I have to stand on the other side of the room and zoom in from there... And half the time it works when the things I'm taking a picture of aren't in plastic containers.

Anyways its a canon... power shot s5 is? I'm not overly smart about cameras, lol just so ya know Thanks for helping me out with my camera!
