Hydras

I got my self some freshwater Hydras. Very exciting and interesting to watch feed. It explains where my ghost shrimp went. I only had two gravid females, and a male, all eaten up. It all happened when I went on vacation and in my 20 gallon, when I came home the tank was covered in these cool creatures. I had to go out and find some mosquito larva, to tide them over until tomorrow, going to get more ghost shrimp.

If when ever I change my mind on them all I have to do is put in my Blue Gourami and she will devour them. I'll watch them closely and make sure my copepods, and amphipods stay at a reasonable level.

A leech?? Ohh those things freak me out. I had one one time and it didn't last too long! Would rather have hydras instead.

ya they freak everyone out, but that makes them that much cooler. I only have one and it has not eaten for me yet, going on 2 weeks. They only feed every 50-70 days, and 90% of them do not feed on blood. They eat shrimp, small fish, earthworms, snails, amphipods, stuff like that. They swallow them hole. It is two tone tan in color, and so far very cool and different to have. I saw a couple of hydra's still in the tank so I'll play it by day.
