Haha!!!

Ok, so...thought I'd share this quick story, as it was funny to watch.

I'm sitting here on the computer and I look up at my fish tank. One of the mystery snails is out of the water, which I guessed she was coming out to lay yet ANOTHER clutch of eggs. Well, she decided that she wanting to go 'parasnailing' instead. What she didn't realize is that when she's out of the water, air gets up under her shell...she let go of the wall, fell into the water, and...well, floated from the air in the shell. The whole time she was floating, she was looking around like 'Whaaa???? ".

Just had to share that. Really funny to see the 'facial expression'.

Mystery snail has a hitch hiker

I was in my kitchen and have a small 6 gal. tank next to the kitchen table. I glanced at it and noticed my White Ivory Mystery snail has a little hitch hiker. I left to retreive my camera hoping to catch the hitch hiker still on it's back. The hitch hiker was one of my Red Cherry shrimps. Here are 2 pictures I took. One of the hitch hiker and the other on the java moss/java fern driftwood.

I thought that if I switched out my pool filter sand for the black sand my lighter colored fish would show up better. I only have 1 blonde endler female, 1 ivory mystery snail and 10+ red cherry shrimps. I plan on putting either a Gold tiger endler, or 1 Gold Cobra endler that was born from my blonde endler that had a mix of colored males born. A friend of mine got his Gold Tiger endlers on www.aquabid.com I'm waiting on babies to be sent once the weather warms up. I went in on 1/2 shipping and cost of fish but he sent me a pair and blue tiger endlers and they all arrived dead except for 1 baby blue tiger endler. He used a insultated box, heat pack and it was from San Francisco to San Diego. He thinks the heat pack went bad. I don't like shipping in the wintertime because of fish dieing.

Here is a full shot of my tank. I made a second level ledge out of black slate on the Right. I got all the pieces for free at a Rock landscape shop. I asked if I could get some broken pieces and they told me go ahead as they can not sale the broken pieces. I came out of that place with a nice bag full of assorted pieces all for free. Maybe some of you guys out their might want to do this. I was willing to pay for the broken pieces.

Pics. below full tank shot, Cobra endler, Gold Tiger endler
full tank picture you can see my 1 blonde female endler by the java moss cover driftwood on the left

Yep, we used that term all the time in snail forums.

Parasnail = parachute + snail
Snorno = snail + porno
