I have mine together in freshwater and they get along just fine. I don't believe any apples can be in salt at all so if you were planning on breeding your nerites they do need to either be in brackish or saltwater.
The combo is fine. Apple snails will rarely ever eat the algae that nerites relish so there is really no competition issues between them.
