the best thing for you to do is buy 6 more and but them in a tank ALONE at 78F with cycled water feed them once a day with food (flake, frozen plankton, and, or fresh bloodworms) just check them daily dont stress if you dont see them much and try not to poke around to find them. i have had 6 in a 10 gallon alone for about 2 months now and they are happy

if you see the shrimp dying does it show signs that the flesh at the tail end is begining to die off or does it die unexpectedly.since all tanks are seperate and some with only's the water that is causing it.tap water does contain metal if the are flowed through metal pipings and tap heads. use activated carbon in the filter if you have filters or filter the water in a bucket with activated carbon and water conditioner before adding to tanks.

i have some ghost shrimp in my 29 gallon but a couple died simply from stress. they are very stress prone animals and even if a fish isn't making contact with the shrimp they can still stress the shrimp and cause him to die without any physical damage....

hope this clears things up

Check the hardness of your water, if it is overly soft the shrimp will struggle and not be able to moult and die. to combat this put in some clean eggshells or a cuttlefish bone, just like the ones for budgies. I think there is also a conditioning product available specifically for shrimp but I haven't tried it so I am unsure.

Hope this helps
