So I got the shrimp for the first time ever today and got a bit of infromation on them from my lfs. (They were a big impulse buy but I really liked them). Anyways I got a cherry shrimp and a Pinocchio shrimp are there any specific requirements that i need to know about them. They are in my ten gallon planted tank (look in my aquarium tab) i think they will be fine. Anything you can let me know about them will be great.

don't anything that has a large amount of heavy metals, fish that can snack on them have ample hiding places cause when they malt other prawns and fish will try to eat them.java moss is the best plant for shrimps as the babies can hide in there till they are big enough to fend for themselves

cherry shrimp are awesome! like all shrimps, copper is deadly to them. Watch out for temperature fluctuations and absolutely no nitrite and/or ammonia, and no high nitrates :D cherry shrimps breed VERy often and have their baby live., So expect more shrimps in the future if you have male and female. When i first bought mine, i found they were all female* but one female was pregnant (had eggs under her back legs).

*to tell if they are female, check for a yellow/green "saddle" looking thing inside their body. Males do not have this saddle and tend to be small in size and not as lush in color.
