Fiddler Crab

I added a fiddler crab so my fully cycled brackish tank (SG is around 1.010) on Saturday. Since then, I saw him once, on Sunday.

Are they always this shy? I was under the impression that fiddler's were pretty cool with being out in the open. Is it possible he's moulting already?

I'm also confused because I've never seen him leave the water. I was under the impression that they spent a significant amount of time out of the water. He's got multiple islands that he could easily climb onto.
