nah the snails over a year old before this behavior started. However, this is a new tank and the snail was the first one in it. Its also growing a different hell than it was before in the old tank. In fact the new shell has been growing so fast, over an inch in a week. One thing to note is that this tank is warmer than the old tank, its kept 76. The old tank often dropped to under 70 due to negligence by my parents, water would drop under heater function level and the heater would just shut off. The snail normally only gets leftovers from my fish and leftover shrimp pellets, algae wafers, etc. I tried to feed it spinach on once but he/she only nibbled on it a little. I'm sure i have least 1 trumpet somewhere under my gravel. The fish in the tank include 5 danios, 2 giant and 3 long finned, 7 pygmy corys, 3 hatchets, 3 black skirt tetras, 2 red eye tetras, 4 otos, 1 SAE and 1 peppered cory. The snail, at first in thsi tank didnt move and was normal for about a week, then i went on vacation and when i got back he was very very active. 4 days later the hatchet fish incident happened. then the day after i started feeding bloodoworms. Could he/she be reaching maturity and is looking for a mate? It's roughly an inch in size, smaller than a golf ball but is getting there.
Edit: i also have no idea how old the snail was when i bought it from petco. The store owner said they had gotten them in on that day. That was roughly a year, give or take a week ago.
