these are supposed to be blue pearl shrimp but i see zero blue after about a week of having them, one of the larger ones has a little bit of red mixed in with its tail but they all are clear? is this some other type of shrimp?
Maybe, you may have to selectively breed them. Blue Pearl Shrimp .:. Neocaridina cf. zhangjiajiensis var. blue .:. Freshwater Aquarium Shrimp Species Information Page
This website talks about red spots on them and says it's normal, with an example. Looking through it they look like blue pearls. If you just got them they may still be stressed and adjusting. Also most breeders sell shrimp really young since they adapt to new parameters better when they're young, so they may gain a bit more colour then. Posted via Mobile Device
