Crawdads after velvet
Hello, and thanks in advance for the help
I have a 10 gallon tank that had 3 chillids iin it with 2 crawdads. 10 gallon Walmart tank kit with charcoal filter, 50% water changes weekly. Jungle start right water conditioner was the only chemical used. Tank was running fine for 4.5 months then I added to small algae eaters which died within a week. The chillids then started surface breathing then when out of town wife saw fish with yellowish coating then all 3 died, I am assuming velvet disease.
I came home and removed the crawdads to separate containers so I can clean the tank. One of them has eggs attached under the tail! My next move is to strip the tank and clean everything with diluted bleach solution and rinse, rinse, rinse to prepare for more fish in near future.
After all the back-story, my question is will I be able to reintroduce the crawdads to tank with fish or will they still be carrying the disease?
