Can I have a crab?

Hi I was wondering if I could have a crab in my tank. It is a 38 gallon tank. If I could what crab would be best for the tank? The water parameters are: pH 6, barely nitrite [low enough that it doesn't effect the fish] and some nitrate. It is soft water. The fish are 10 neon tetras, to german rams 1 bushy nose pleco, 1 bulldog pleco, 5 kuhli loaches. the sustrate is a soft sand

No for a number of reasons. Crabs are normally brakish. They are semi-aquatic and need to be able to get out of the water. They will also eat your fish.

I would be VERY concerned about ANY nitrite levels. Just because your fish are not showing distress does not mean this is okay.If it is there it is poisoning your fish, though you may not see effects of this till months later. Nitrite is the most toxic part of the nitrogen cycle and damage done by this is non-reversible. Along with the fact that you have lots of sensitive fish you are taking a big risk here.
