can black mystery snails live with newts?

I know this is not about fish, but can anyone help me out? I want to know if black mystery snails can live with paddletail newts?

I would imagine they can as long as the paddle tail can't swallow them or doesn't like to eat snails aggresively. I haven't seen anything about newts eating snails so it could be safe.

i have a paddle tail newt but no snails started disappering until we put in loaches, so if you have any loaches, any kind at all, yoyo loaches, coolai loaches, dont put snails in-any at all. But i wouldnt put paddle tails in with coolai loaches though, my newt eat mine..... good with dwarf frogs though, and plays hide and seek with sand eels!

Leah, have you tested the kuhlis with the snails? I would not put a blanket statement stating all loaches are not compatible with fish. I have never seen dojos, kuhlis and hillstreams eat snails granting them an exception from the list of snail eaters. Judging from the mouth anatomy as well, the serpentine loaches are not prime candidates for predatory instincts towards snails. I find it purely coincidental that they eat snails which happen to be dying or already dead.

+1...I've only ever seen kuhlis eat dead snails, which is no surprise as they'll eat just about any sort of dead animal matter.
