Wink Breeding Pest Snails! LOL

Yup, so i got some driftwood for a 5 gallon tank i have... and then a day after i noticed 2 snails crawling all over my plants so i grab a plastic container, filled with water added a drop of water conditioner and left the snails in there. My gosh they poop a lot, but after about a day they breed and laid eggs and I'm like WHOA, yea so after a week there is 4 batches of eggs lol, When are they going to hatch?

Hi Jasperdog. You say pest snails, do you mean pond snails? Or ramshorn, mts.......?

If they are pond snails, yes, they will breed like crazy out-of-control, I think the eggs will hatch in a few days. They look gooey and are laid in a bunch.

Why are you breeding pest snails, just curious? I have assassin snails in a Walstad method 2 gallon jar, they love to eat pest snails, so I give them the ones I find in my tanks.

A week to 1 1/2 weeks. The little brown dots in the goo are snails and will just leave the goo and walk away on their own. I hate pest snails in my aquarium, but I have a friend who loves to watch them too, the same as his fish and shrimp. To each their own, congrats on the baby snails!!
