Bamboo shrimp feeding

How can you tell if a fan shrimp is getting enough food? I sometimes see mine, either sitting on the filter intake, or on plants under the out flow. It's kinda hard to see if the fans are out (thickly planted).

I have no idea if mine is doing good enough or if I should supplement more. As it is it is a shrimp only tank with a thriving colony of cherries and a couple snails. I think there are oodles of micro organisms. My babies have no trouble feeding. But I know these guys are different.

I'd add tiny amounts of spirulina as I described above as long as you have a sand-substrate tank. Cherries will love the leftovers if any settles. (ie, use the wet toothpick method so the powder is more likely to sink)
