baby apple snail?

Just over a month ago I bought what I think is a little Golden Apple Snail, it's grown so fast. Tonight I was looking in a skull we have for hiding, and I noticed a black baby snail, probably about 1 cm. I read Apple Snails lay eggs, and are sexual so they need a male to fertilize them. Well I haven't seen any eggs, and only this one apple snail had ever been in the tank. Does anyone know how or where this little snail came from?

Eggs are laid outside water level.:) I would suspect that wee snail's just one of the hitchhikers unless you didn't get plants.

Sent from my desktop or phone or whatever else I am holding on to 2

All the plants are plastic.

It's not impossible for a tiny snail to hitch a ride inside the apple. Baby apples do that to their poor parents all the time. If you got a small amount of gravel with any of your snails or fish you could have gotten a little snail and never noticed. I managed to get three pond snails in my plastic plant only tank and I'm still not for sure where they came from. I'm just glad I got them out before I had a million more. It's been well over a month so I think I'm safe.
