Cool looking snail. What's a banana shrimp?

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

I think so too...although the Brigs/Mystery snails are my favorites (they're purple, my favorite color, so I'm biased there) I really like the Assassins....

They are Yellow Shrimp....some people call them Banana, however in doing some research I found that Banana Shrimp are Penaeus merguiensis (seen below)

as opposed to Neocaridina heteropoda (which is what we have) so it's actually a misnomer to call them banana shrimp. They are a species of Dwarf Shrimp the same as Red Cherry Shrimp. This color variation was originally bred in Germany.

They are yellow shrimp if you look at her profile she has some very nice pictures of them along with their blue shrimp. Very nice indeed!

Thanks, we have five total...waiting for the eggs to hatch. Figure about three more weeks since the eggs just appeared last week. And then a forever wait for the little ones to grow out enough to show themselves and (wow) 4 to 8 months for them to reach full growth.

Let's see....My assassins started laying eggs in early April while I was on vacation. Then babies appeared only in July and at about 3 mm in size and some of my baby assassins are half-grown to an inch at the very moment. Very slow process...

Very slow indeed. I have a 6g just for those snails and that tank doesn't gather much interest to guests except when you drop some "pest" snails for them to stalk and eat.
