I had these guys for a couple weeks now - 7 of them. I had 8 but the smallest one buried himself and died. I had them in the betta tanks and they burrowed in the gravel (can't afford black atm and I don't want to use regular sand) so I noticed a lot of extra waste in the tanks. Cleaned them and then put the snails in little betta cups with a bit of sand (I just don't want to use the reg sand for my bettas, I like them on black gravel) they don't need that much room do they?? They'll be fine in the small cups with sand? That way I can keep an eye on them and make sure they're all eating etc.
There is not a lot of info on assassins other than dropping them in a tank infested with nuisance snails. I'm quite enjoying my pond snails (came free with the assassins to kick start breeding ) and watching them clean everything!! And I think assassins are so cute with their siphons!
I'm just wondering if anybody has a good resource of info on the assassins? I've googled about everything I need for basic care and feeding but if there's anything else. Are the cups okay for long term use?

assassins are substrate burrowers. They attack from bellow.

see: http://www.invertplanet.com/helena.html

they are not dead.. they are waiting and breeding.

Thank you so much!! I read all 3 sites and they helped. I think my cups are too small for long term. I'll try to get out now after the long weekend and pick up a larger tank. I will keep them by themselves because you better believe the bettas will make sure the assassins get NO bloodworm dinners!
Being summer I just checked the water temp in the cups and they have warm water and plenty of bloodworms :)
However, I think 2 have died on me. They're on top of the sand half out of their shells but there is no smell.
