You may be right as they seem like walking shrimps but I can be wrong.I do not see them swimming around like my other shrimps. I also have red cherry shrimps, crystal black shrimps, crystal red shrimps in other tanks. The amano shrimps are really nice. They will come out and steal any sinking food and grab it and walk away with it.

Pictures of Plastic grid I used to cover openings

I bought those plastic squares grids at Micheals in the craft section and cut that to fit over my openings. You can secure with blk. electrical tape. I bought the blk. grid.to match my aquarium hood.I have Mystery snails and Horned Nerite snails that can get out also. I lost one Mystery snail as it crawled out of the opening. Since I used this I have not had a problem.

I did not secure that with the blk. electrical tape yet. I put electrical tape on the top of all my tanks edge so you do not see the waterline. It comes off clean over other sticky tape. My friend put that tape to hide the waterline and it gives the tank a clean look. I liked her idea so much I did all my tanks. You can double it up if you want the waterline to be lower. I just used 1 strip.

The Grid also works for fish that are jumpers like endlers.
