1 Malaysian Trumpet Snail

I have recently put my lone Betta and Mystery snails in a qt and cleaned my main tank and tank items to get rid of a pest snail infestation. I have put sand as a substrate back in my main tank. ( I found a relatively fast and easy way to clean sand if anyone is interested.) I wanted MTSs for the sand but have seen that they breed like the pest snails. Will 1 lone MTS breed with itself?

TELL US!!
If there is enough food, it will "breed". However if the population gets out of hand, that means that you are overfeeding.

I bought play sand and the bag said washed and cleaned so I assumed it was ready. I poured it in my clean tank and added water and it clouded up so thickly you couldn't see two inches in. I tried using my Python water changer to suck out dirty water and it made no difference. So I lowered and kept the water level at about 2-4'' . Then using the python with low vacuum I started shoving it down into the sand and pulling it back out of the sand to let the heavy sand drop but it keeps sucking the light sand that clouds the water. Just like when you do a heavy gravel cleaning. About 30-45 minutes of this and it's done.

Yes, 1 trumpet snail will make 1000....if you overfeed.

I prefer to wash the sand before putting it in the tank. Even if it says it's washed, it's never clean.
