I currently house mostly North American Natives, but still have a few cichlids here and there. I am the Admin on 2 top rated forums, and an active member of NANFA. this appears to be a very nice site, and i would welcome the opportunity to Join the Admin staff, if you could use the help, just let me know. Hello & welcome to the forum!

Just bought my first North American natives the other day, two rainbow darters.
My plan was to put them in my 65 gal with mystery snails, person working at the store said they would be fine with larger snails. Reading online, I do not think he was correct. They are in a 10 gal QT, till I decide what to do with them.

Darters are very cool little fish, they remind me of Hummingbirds, They have no swim bladder so they just kind of hop around and perch on rocks driftwood etc. They love freeze dried or frozen bloodworms and the Rainbow is one of the more beautiful ones. They will be fine in a 10 with the snails as they are not really aggressive at all. the pic is of another really pretty one, the tangerine darter

I would love to but i am without a doubt, THE WORST photographer in the universe. And even with all the money ive invested and lost over the years, in this hobby, i have never invested in a decent camera For taking fish pics

Welcome to the forum, Jim! I bought a camera for the sole purpose of taking pics of my fish & tanks and I'm like you...a horrible photographer. What a waste of money that was for me. I should have just bought some aquarium supplies.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

I agree kymmie, and in the case of some of those nice cameras, you could buy another tank :)
