Howdy!

I had a 20 gal tank with Mollys and tetras (the African frogs kept getting out!) for a few years in the 70's as a kid.

When my son was that age, we lived in San Francisco and used to go the the SF Aquarium Society Meetings @ the Steinhart in the early 90's. Those were so fun- guest speakers of world class icthyiologists and presentations and a gear auction at the end. It was so cool to be there after-hours :nerd:

I have a 5 gal (Aquareon Cue kit) now I recently set up with some guppies. This is a bit of an upgrade from a borrowed 3 gal. I wanted to see if I was ready to commit.

My local pet store isn't that great, so what water testing kits for ammonia & Ph are the best/economical fit? I'm using Ph test strips ATM before buying...

Thanks!

I believe the liquid test kit is the most economical, though a digital unit for pH would a good investment if you have to alter your waters chemistry. Otherwise, with regular maintenance the pH is going to be pretty near your tap so that's not something you really need to test for too much.
