Quick question about mopani wood

Hey everyone, I am new here and had a question about this mopani wood I recently placed in my aquarium. I soaked the wood for a few days and boiled the wood a few times. I am not worried about it releasing tannins. I cannot tell if this is sap or fungus growing. I had just placed it in the tank when I noticed it. Will it harm the fish if it is sap? If it is fungus I will obviously remove it immediately. Thanks

Mopani has been known to grow white fungus stuff on it when placed inside an aquarium. It's safe to remove from the aquarium and scrub that white fungus off. It will however destroy the aquarium and its inhabitants if you leave it in there growing that stuff on it.
