Now that you all saved my tank...I'll say hi!

Hi everyone! Thanks for all your help in the emergency section over the past few days.

I got into keeping fish when I was 16 or 17. I started with goldfish and was clueless. All I knew was they were pretty and change the filter once in a while. So once they all died because of my water quality, a new concept to me since it was just water, my lfs suggested ciclids due to the hard water in the area. I did well with them for 2 years and once again that water quality thing came up but I was determined. So I tried mollys. I went to bed one night and had 6 mollys and when I woke up, I had more than 200!! I was still working on water quality, not I had babies?! So I gave up once I saw the bigger fish eat all the babies. I brought the fish back to my lfs.

Now that I'm older, have a good job and my own house, my ultimate goal is a biotope. No plastic plants in my tank, they just look fake. I would love to have a heavily planted tank for my swordtails and guppies to play in and have babies. I have 3 male swords, 6 female swords, 2 pair of fancy guppies, 1 very pretty pleco, 2 clown loach and 1 albino bala shark who doesn't really fit in but is peaceful with the other fish in a 30gallon tank. Right now it's lightly planted sinc this is my first try at live plants. I want to get a feel for them and see how I do before I spend $100+ on plants. My son who is 2 is learnig everything as we go along so hopefully we'll share the same love for fish and the ocean. My first love will always be Great Whites but there a bit to big to keep in my living room so my little friends keep me company.

Somewhere between Toms River, Freehold and Cherry Hill. There all the same distance depending on where your coming from. Know where Ft Dix/McGuire is?
