Hello! I've been a regular over at BettaFishForum for a few years, but since the recent passing of my 2+ years Betta, I think I'm ready for a new challenge: Marine Fish.
A bit about me, of course.... I've grown up mostly around Freshwater fish of many kinds! From pond fish to exotic tropicals to the muddy, grubby ( but still adorable) albino catfish. I got into Betta keeping during my early years of college (Digital Media major) and that's where I've pretty much stayed for the past few years.
As I stated, my sights are set on Marine Keeping. I understand it is remarkably more challenging to keep marine fish and corals than any freshwater fish... someone told me keeping bettas is like drawing stick figures and keeping marine fish is like painting the Sistine Chapel ceiling!
I'm a dedicated individual who simply loves a good challenge. :) So marine it is.
Currently I've got a green spotted puffer named Captain Davy Anchor Stillwater. He's a bit of a brat and I love him! In a few weeks, I'll have had him for a year in freshwater. I'm planning to acclimate him into a brackish tank this month, then gradually go full marine with him. Just gotta wait for my next paycheck to purchase my equipment and then setup can begin!
At the same time, my folks are planning a tropical community tank. We'll see how this all goes!
