Good Day All

I resently got a new 4 FT aquaruim with all accessories from my local petshop and do love the fact that I could set up the tank succesfully after many years of not having a tank. Re-started this hobby is a good thing.

Hey Bullet, a good day right back at ya! Welcome to TFK. I'm happy you were able to set your tank back up with no problems after being away from it for years. The sole reason I found this forum was because I jumped back into the hobby after nearly 30 years. So many things had changed I had no idea what I was doing! I found this site and I've never left.
Will you give us more detail on your tank and what fish you are keeping?? Pictures are always nice too, we all love pictures here. Getting back into this hobby is always a great thing. Welcome back!!

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

Thank you Kane: The tank is up and running already for the past month and up to date only lost 1 platy female and 2 guppy female. the guppy female gave me 7 fry in a seperate tank that I'm using as a breeding tank. She died with still a lot of babbies inside her. In other words I only lost the platy in the 4ft tank for no reason at all.

Well that sounds pretty good for just getting back into it, what else you got in the tank?

Hallo Aunt Kymmie: thank you for the welcoming note.

The tank is a 4ft tank with a filtration system in the centre of the back glass. equipt with background pic, 400watt heater (to keep my children warm), 3000L/H overhead pump (to keep the water in surculation), dubble oulet airpump, 40kg baige gravel, two big rocks and some small rocks.

Live plants (not enought if you ask me, but will get more in due time). Tropical fishes (Guppies, Baloon Mollies, Mollies, 1 Giant (I think she is a Micky Mouse Molly), Zebra Tetra, Neon Tetras, Angels, Silver Tips, Bleading Heart Tetras, Alge Eaters, and some Bottom Feeders)

I did try to include a small video clip to the post but received a error message while uploading the clip, will try to add some pics tomorrow

Hi Bullet

Welcome to TFK. I'm glad you were succesful in setting up your new tank.

Thanks to the great folks here, I've had great succes as well. And I learn something new every single day.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Nothing beats a great pet shop when you're starting out. I moved last year and am still looking for a "great" local place.

Luckily, my tanks are healthy so I don't need to do any school restocking but it would be nice to have a place to go to that take great care of their tanks and fish just in case.
