New to the site and trying to identify a shrimp/lobster

I have a 75 gallon semi-planted freshwater community tank. Recently I bought what the LFS called a "blue box shrimp." I haven't been able to find it online anywhere. Has anyone ever heard of this animal?

No, but it's definitely a shrimp versus a crayfish. Shrimp have hinged tails, while crayfish tails are straight.

125 - BGK, chanchito cichlid, pictus cats, silver dollars, palmas bichir
125 - cichlids (severums, bolivian rams, chocolate), rainbows ( turquoise, red), loaches (angelicus, zebra, kuhli and horseface), plecos (BN, RL and clown), denison barbs, tiretrack eel, pearl gouramis, betta
90 - Congo tetras, african knife, upside down cats, spotted ctenopoma, kribensis, delhezzi bichir
2.5 - betta

Welcome to Tropical Fish Keeping forum.

You might want to post with the pic in the Invertebrates section, as several members have various shrimp and other invertebrates, and someone is likely to know the species.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

hello and weclome :)

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
