New to site and Tropical Fish

Hello everyone!

Decided to join this forum since my family and I have become quite interested in creating a fresh water community.
About a year ago we purchased a 55 gallon tank from Craigslist for $75. It also came with a nice wooden stand and my family decided it was a great deal.

Over the year it housed three of our elderly green frogs and unfortunately two of them passed away this year. With one left we figured we could downsize her to a smaller, but still spacious, aquarium while we planned out our future community fish tank.

Right now we are in the process of searching for some live plants and decor to place in tank before we go on and get some fish.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

You'll find lots of help and knowledgable people here. Have fun with your new setup.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Welcome to TFK! I'm envious, I wish I was setting up a new tank.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

yeah me too. :)

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
