New from New England

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to TFK. I found my way here from bettafish.com. I've only recently started keeping fish, but I tend to jump into things feet first. I'm from central Massachusetts, and I'm 25 years old and a girl. I currently have 3 cats and 1 betta fish. I have a 10 gallon holding my betta, and I currently have an empty 15 gallon.

The 15 gallon might be used to winter a single common goldfish so that it can find a permanent home in a goldfish pond come spring. If not, I'm very interested in using it to try out a substrate planted tank.

I work nights as an emergency dispatcher, answering 911 in a small town. I find myself haunting this site quite a bit lately. I'm always open to advice or chat. I'm always interested in learning new things.

Take care,
Hannah

I certainly will. One way or another, I'll put pictures up eventually. I'm hoping my boyfriend takes care of the goldfish for the winter, so I can experiment with a substrate planted tank.

Welcome to TFK, Hannah! Looking forward to pics, and would love to see pics of your kittys! I LOVE cats, dogs, fish and kids. Not necessarily in that order.
PS. What's the strangest 911 call you've ever had to deal with?? I have quite a few firemen friends and they have some CRAZY stories on calls they've been on!

Ask and you shall receive! My 3, aka "the kids" are black: MacDuff, grey tabby w/o white: Grimalkin aka Little Girl, and Orange and White tabby: Snug. The grey tabby with the white bib is my "sister" Lucy who resides with my mother. Yes, our names are occasionally interchangable when my mother is talking about us. Duff and Grim are brother and sister, they're about 2. Snug is my new addition, got him over the summer, he is about 5.

The strangest 911 call was probably the guy who called me convinced their was a "huge guy" standing behind a tree in his backyard staring at him. There was no guy... still not quite sure if he was on something or not. My favorite 911 call was received by a coworker. An elderly woman was convinced her husband was dealing drugs out of her basement... she didn't have a basement... and her husband was deceased.
