New Member... hello all!

Hi everyone,

New member, just got back into the hobby 6 weeks ago and my 32g tank is finally cycled! I have 1 female kribensis, 1 rainbow shark, 7 tiger barbs and 3 white clouds in there now, all fairly small (shark is the biggest one at 2.5 inches).

I want to add some color - red fish or blue fish (not talking aboutr Dr. Seuss here) but they would have to be rather on the small side so I don't overstock the tank, and fit in with the rest of the community.

Does anyone have suggestions for me?

Nice to meet you all.

I was thinking Cardinal Tetras - but I'm not sure how they would deal with the barbs... although my barbs are pretty much the bullies of the tank, they leave every other fish alone and keep going after each other...

THe other option I have would be to add a yellow lab cichlid to the mix - get one that is still fairly young (and small) so that he wouldn't feel too bullyish towards the other fish and see how that goes... I am not looking to breed any fish so I wouldn't have to deal with the breeding aggressiveness there.

Ummm.... what to do?

hello and welcome.
i wouldn't add the yellow lab for a couple of reasons.
how about adding odessa barbs, the males are real pretty,or just a contrast to the
green barbs you have ?? how about albino barbs ?

Hey thanks for the tip willow! Up until you mentioned it I had never even heard of these little beauties... A quick google search later and I just love the looks of them! I'll keep an eye out for them!
