New here!

I just signed up for the forums today. I'm a college senior psychology major, and have a sliiiiight addiction to fish. I've been on other forums, and it doesn't seem as if they're as as used as I hope they would have been.
Hope to read some great information here!

I just signed up here too. Welcome to TFK! My wife bought our kids a 10g tank for christmas. I went up to the Lfs to get a stand and wound up buying a 25g and stand and equipment. I was planning on setting it up and going back for fish later with the kids only to find out I had a long wait before we could add them. Anyway, now we have 3 platys w/fry and 1 expecting , 1 dwarf gouami, 6 peppered corys, and angelfish. So what kind of set up do you have? I'd love to hear back!

Hello and welcome to all the future addicts in this thread. LOL.

We're glad you found us.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

After a 30 year hiatus from the hobby, I jumped back into it 3 weeks ago with the purchase of a used 35 g with about 80 fancy tailed guppies in it. I've gotten rid of most of the guppies in exchange for some live plants and fish food and fertilizer. I then traded an orig (1985) copy of Jack Wattley's handbook of Discus for a pair of Angels (2.5 - 3.5") plus four cardinal tets plus some more plants. I've since added 2 cory's, 4 Plecos.. (2 for my next tank), 14 black neon tets, 8 neon tets. (Just a tad overcrowded but soon to be relieved with a 29 bow-front (freebie) set up last night.) I learned one lesson in the first 10 minutes on this site! Java Ferns are NOT to be buried in the gravel! OOPs... now anchored to some fake driftwood. I look forward to participating on this site! i really hope you enjoy for time here.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
