new guy in town

Hello everyone, I'm new to the hobby! I have a 20 gallon freshwater aquarium that has been going for about a month and a half now. I live in Hill AFB, and I am looking to meet people that live near by that are also into the hobby. I'm very excited about doing this. I would eventually like to own a bigger tank, and maybe get into saltwater. First and foremost I am trying to learn all I can. Thanks for reading and looking forward to meeting everyone, and answering any questions you may have for me.

Hello and welcome to the addiction (also known as fishkeeping).

I think many of us started out with a smallish tank and soon filled every available space we could find in our living quarters with a tank, and another tank.... and another tank......

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Smile Hi jr782...

Welcome to the forum!

I don't think one ever stops learning in this hobby but the journey/process along the way can be a great deal of fun and very rewarding.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If youíre going to take it under your wing then youíre responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

Hello and welcome to TFK As said there is always more to learn, and it easily becomes an addiction. Eventually you will probably find out the one tank is just not enough, and you will have another and another...

hello and welcome.
hope you'll be very happy here with us.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
