New guy still wet behind the ears.

Hey guys my names Shane. I live in Polk City, Florida and I have a 35 gallon octagon tank w/ community fish. I have been in the hobby for only a little over a month. I did not know so much went into caring for fish. I got you guys to help back me up so I confident that I will excel in the hobby.

Welcome Shane.

I had no idea what was involved when I started either. I remember my parents buying tanks and fish only to have them die off within a month or so. Back then, no-one heard of cycling a tank or owned a water test kit.

You will learn a lot by reading the threads here.

What kind of fish are in your community tank?

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Welcome, Shane!
Hopefully you'll be able to learn alot here on the forum, I know I did. I had kept tanks over 30 years ago so when I decided to set one up again a year ago I thought I knew all I needed to know. Boy, was I wrong! You'll get up to speed in no time. Do you have any pics of your fish & set up that you can share? We love pictures.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...
