New Guy

I am new to the forums. I use to have a fish tank when I was a kid but we got rid of them and now I am really eager to get another tank going. I am very new to this fish seen and have lots to learn. I want to get a reef setup; I have no clue really on everything I need and the steps but I have read LOTS of the recent post and I am learning. I learn very fast and use common since, lol that's important, if someone would like to help me by telling me what specific equipment I would need that would be very helpful. I understand that there are list in the SW forums on what there is but maybe you have a brand or you know little tricks stuff like that is the really apprciated. I use all kinds of messengers just pm me in the forums. I will still post questions and hopefully be able to answers others (in due time), I am not trying to take away from the purpose of the forums just when someone uses a messenger it is alot faster.
Thanks,
AaaRr.

Welcome to the FORUM! The one thing you'll find in this hobby (especially SW) is that no one person is an expert. I've been reefing for 6years and i still have many things to learn. It takes time, research, understanding and probably the most important... patients (long suffering right?) Just keep at it and go slow. You can check my progress and beginning here then check my small build here and get an idea of what you want to start with.

you will want to join a club at MASNA and they can' point you to all the clubs in the USA and buy your dry goods (lights, skimmer, pumps, ect) online. It's so much cheaper... if you are a DIY'r (do it yourself) then you can save loads of money this way too.

Happy reefing!

Michael

i wish you well with your project.
:)

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
