Hello all!
My roommate has a 55 gallon and a 10 gallon setup at our house and they are both pretty sweet! I have been helping him take care of the tanks the last couple of months and recently joined him to the local fish store which got me thinking...
A co-worker has a beta fish at her desk and I couldn't help to think how great it would be to have a salt water tank at mine. I am currently working 6 days a week and only live 1 mile from the office... I practically live at work right now...
Anyways I have a decent sized desk but nothing crazy. I really need to go small, upscale and not to noisy (we have a white noise machine anyways so I cannot imagen a little water noise would be that bad...)
I originally looked at smaller tanks but I was told in order to do salt water, a fluval edge 6 gallon was likely the smallest you could do. So I just checked it over w/ my managers and office admin personal and it sounds like it will be an acceptable addition.
After talking w/ my roommate and the folks at the store I was thinking going w/ the newer (led) fluval 6 gallon and adding 2 clownfish, maybe a shrimp, some snales, maybe a little anemone, some liverock...
Not saying that $ isn't an issue, but I would be willing to spend additional $ for a more professional clean look to the tank, I really don't want a huge setup w/ tons of space needed, I plan on keeping it on my desk. I also don't want the tank to look dirty so I def. need to focus on getting some cleaning creatures in the tank.
Anyways I have seen a picture or two w/ some great looking 6 gallons and some that look like an algie sest pool. What do you guys think? I really don't think I can go >6gallons based on my current desk space, so is this idea just a pipe dream? Is there a different tank I should be looking at? Or possibly some different fish that would go better?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
