New fishie in the pond

Hello everyone,
I have at last decided to join Tropical Fishkeeping because, since deciding last spring to buy a tank, I have found all the helpful advice and guidance I needed to start up my aquarium.
We live in rural France and so are a bit thin on the ground where fish suppliers are concerned but the local Pet Shop has on the staff a very knowledgeable young lady who has helped a great deal.

I hope one day to be as useful a member of your community as you all are but in the meantime - thank you for the encouragement in what has already turned out to be an absorbing hobby. Gill

Thank you Willow for your lovely welcome.
I have yet to figure out how to add a photo but once I do I'll send a couple. Here's the link to my Aquarium in the meantime:
Juwel Rio 180 - 180 gallon Freshwater fish tank

Hope I did that right!

Thank you Romad,
Being such experienced aquarists is really great to know I'm getting it right. I love the heap of plants, and so do the fish. I was surprised (and confidence battered) when someone called at the house and immediately announced "Too many plants - that's why you have all that algae". I rarely have to clean the glass, the only downside is vacuuming the gravel, which is not impossible but difficult . Not sure she had seen Java moss before!!
Thank you again both of you for being so kind. I'll post some more photos later.
