Not yet, there was ick so right now I'm just waiting to make sure it's gone before adding more fish.

Oh definitely good plan. Is the tank fully cycled? Did you decide to add some live plants? Any thoughts on which fish you will get?

Yes, it's fully cycled by now I believe... I never knew about cycling and just added fish, lost a few but it seems stable now, and I've tested the water and there's no ammonia, no nitrite, and very low nitrate... and the remaining fish that didn't die is still doing great.

I wasn't really planning to plant anything, but I think my fish is pregnant so I put some hornwort in today so the fry would have somewhere to hide if I'm not there to separate them from the mother when they're born. I'm not too sure what I'm going to add next... I think it depends on if she's actually pregnant, because I don't want to get anything that will eat the babies.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
