new to breeding

Hi all, completely new to the breeding world, right now I am reading through all the breeding posts that I find relevant

my list of attempting to breed is as follows:

Zebra Danios, long and short fin (currently have them)
leopard danios, long and short finned
endler's livebearers (just got them)
guppies (wifes, no clue on species)
CPD's (Have them)
Sakura Red shrimp (I don't really count this as you can't stop them) went from 5 to 50
Green Cory's
Killi Fish
albino bristlenose (have them)
German Red Peacocks (have baby fry that I recieved from a trade)
cardinal tetras (getting them eventually)
rainbows (getting some eventually, probably boosemans)
roseline sharks (have them)

so far I have had 2 sets of zebra fry, with a fairly high mortality rate (I think it's because I am scared to siphon out the water for fear of sucking out fry) when is it safe to transfer these to a new tank? also any ideas on keeping an infusoria culture going? latest hatching was about a week ago, I've been feeding them egg yolk. older set is over a month and close to 1/2"

my tanks are as follows:
3 55's, 90rr (currently not set up), 40b, 2 20L, 4 10 (about to become 5), and 100g I think (needs to be resealed before setup)

Well the guppies are easy you just put them together and they start having babies.

Something smells fishy

yep got guppies
haven't gotten endler's yet
got sakura reds
got zebra danios
next might try doing the celestial pearls.

To tell you about my breeding tank, it is a 10g with a marble substrate and sponge filter. I yank the parents after 3-7 days of being in the tank, and I have been leaving the marbles in. I feed the newly hatched fish a water/ hard boiled egg yoke mix. Unfortunately, since I am new to breeding, I am losing 50-75% of my zebra danio fry. my big questions are these:

1. how soon should I start doing water changes on the fry tank, and what percentage daily should I be changing/ how many times a day?
2. should I pull the marbles out when I pull out the parents or leave it in. eventually I want to pull the marbles out to make cleaning easier. also I have been thinking about switching to a hard holy plastic thing like you can find at hobby lobby for quilting patterns
3. how soon should I start feeding zebra danio fry and CPD fry, seeing how I can barely make out the zebra danio fry I have no idea if they still have their egg yolk on them. The dang things are tiny

I can only answer number 2 for you, sorry. You should have a bare bottom tank for the fry to make cleaning easier, and just make it easier to see what the fry are up to. So yes, take the marbles out. May I ask though, how do you tell the gender of a zebra danio?

by the size of thier bellies/color, one has more silver in its stripes (female I beleive) while the other has more gold to (males), females also get bigger than males. personally I am a bit lazy trying to sex them, I grab 5 and put them in the breeding tank, wait a couple days, then yank them

just wanted to say hello and welcome.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
