Good job, glad you were able to sort some of it out, date wise. Be aware nature has a mind of it's own, sometimes no matter what we do to assist we cannot for see how this will all work out. But if you have a male and female in that 10 gallon it will all repeat itself in 28 days. Be careful what wish for!! Not only do the fish multiply but the fish tanks do as well.
Pregnant females will get so big they actually look like they square off at the bottom front, and if she is light coloured you will see a dark spot down near her anal fin. This is called a Gravid spot and is said to be her body thinning enough for their little eye balls to show through. All signs she is getting close. If she has both of these then I would put her in the box either tonight or tomorrow night. You will also see signs of her going off and hiding for awhile.
The babies should stay in the net or a small tank until they are bigger than the SMALLEST mouth in the tank that could eat them. You will need to crush fish food very finely to feed them, or pick up Baby fish food at the LFS if your budget allows.
Jeaninel's Avatar is a Leopard Bush Fish or Leopard Ctenopoma. It is amazing for sure! I have never seen one in person. They grow to 6 inches long and need a tank of 55 Gal for one (48" long). It has a hinged jaw that allows it to open his mouth much wider than the average fish of comparable size and can eat fish much bigger than you would expect. Quite shy too.
